Privacy notice

This notice explains what Franked collects and how it's used. If it changes, we'll update this page and tell you in the app.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself).
• Portfolio data you enter: trades, dividends, fund tax statements, interest, expenses, settings and any tax profile figures such as your other income.
• Technical data: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and short-lived records of sign-in attempts to protect against abuse.

How it's used

Only to run the service: storing your portfolios, calculating performance and tax figures, and letting the people you invite see the portfolios you shared with them. We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties.

Where it's stored

Accounts and portfolios are stored on our server in Australia (Sydney), with nightly encrypted-at-rest backups.

Website statistics

We count visits to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, which website referred you, your device type and the country implied by your browser's language. Visitors are identified only by an anonymous code that changes every day, so we can't follow anyone over time. We don't use cookies for this or share it with anyone. The owner dashboard shows account names, email addresses and sign-up dates, never the contents of your portfolios.

Market data

To show prices, the server requests quotes for the securities you hold from Yahoo Finance. Only the security codes are sent — never your holdings, amounts or identity.

Who can see your portfolios

Only you and people you (or your adviser) invite. Advisers see the client portfolios they manage. Clients see only their own.

The demo

The demo runs entirely in your browser and saves to your browser's local storage. Nothing you type in the demo is sent to our server.

Your choices

You can download a complete backup at any time (Settings → Data) and delete your account from the Account page, which removes your login and every portfolio nobody else manages.
