Doing your tax return with Franked

Get every investment figure for myTax, including capital gains, franking credits and ETF statements.

Open the Tax page and pick the financial year at the top right. The tabs along the top take you through everything.

1. Check the "Before you lodge" list

On the Tax return tab, the checklist on the right tells you what needs attention, for example dividends to confirm or ETF statements still missing. Work through it first.

2. Enter your ETF tax statements

  1. Open the Trust statements tab.
  2. For each ETF or managed fund, enter the amounts from its annual tax statement (AMMA). It usually arrives between July and September.
  3. Each amount goes to the right label and the cost base of your units is adjusted automatically. Our ETF tax statement guide explains what the amounts mean.

3. Review capital gains

The Capital gains tab lists every sale. If you sold part of a holding bought at different times, you can choose which parcels were sold. Losses are applied in the order that saves the most tax, and the 50% discount is applied where you held for 12 months or more.

4. Copy the figures into myTax

Back on the Tax return tab, each figure is shown with its myTax label (11S, 11T, 11U, 13U, 18H, 18A and so on). Click a figure to copy it, then paste it into the matching label in myTax.

5. Using an accountant?

Open Accountant pack to download everything they need in one go, or invite them to your portfolio from Sharing so they can look themselves.

Franked does the sums and maps them to the ATO labels; it isn't tax advice. If something is unusual, check with a registered tax agent. Self-lodged returns for 2025–26 are due by 31 October 2026.
